Topics/Tracks:

  • Track 1: Fibromyalgia. This track will highlight the latest in Fibromyalgia research, treatment and management.
  • Track 2: Pain Conditions. This track features lectures by Regional and National experts on the most commonly diagnosed pain conditions, including: Cancer Pain, Neuropathic Pain, Headaches, Osteoarthritis, Breakthrough Pain, and Low Back Pain.
  • Track 3: Complementary & Alternative Medicine. This innovative track highlights many complementary and alternative modalities in the treatment of pain, including: Physical Therapy, Physical Capacity Evaluations, Naturopathic Medicine, Acupuncture, Chiropractic Medicine, Massage, and Art Therapy. This track also includes a two hour experiential session in which participants can experience first-hand Acupuncture, Physical Therapy and Chiropractic modalities.
  • Track 4: Pain Management 101. This track is designed for individuals who have little or no pain management experience. It will provide a basic overview of pain assessment, prescribing & avoiding pain management pitfalls, pain pharmacology, pain psychology and non-pharmacologic modalities for treating pain.
  • Track 5: Pain & Addiction.
  • Track 6: Special Populations. This track features lectures on Pain in the Elderly, Pain in the Terminal Ill, Pain in Infants & Children as well as lectures on the Role of Gender and Race in the Pain Experience.
  • Track 7: Psychology: The Rein on Pain is Mainly in the Brain.
  • Track 8: Management Issues & Decisions. This track features lectures on Opioid Conversion, Managing the Difficult Patient, Pain & Policy, Legal Issues, and a panel presentation on Medicinal Marijuana in the Treatment of Pain.
